In an Instant
"…And in an instant, suddenly, you shall be visited and delivered by the Lord of hosts…"(Isaiah 29:5-6, AMP)

All through the Bible, we have examples of how God suddenly showed Himself strong on behalf of His people. But sometimes when we've struggled in an area for a long time, it's easy to just give up and accept things the way they are. One of the enemy’s favorite lies is to tell you that nothing is ever going to change. He’ll tell you that you’re never going to get well, that your marriage isn’t going to work out, that you’re never going to break that addiction. But I want to tell you today, it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been in those circumstances, God can change things in an instant! In a split second of time, He can turn it all around. One touch of God’s power can heal your body. One touch of His favor can promote you. One touch of His goodness can solve that problem. Just one touch from Almighty God can instantly change your life.

I encourage you today, keep believing, keep standing, and keep hoping. Don't let the enemy drag your thoughts down because God is working behind the scenes. Your time is coming, and I declare that your breakthrough is going to happen suddenly–in an instant!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
"Father in heaven, I choose to trust that You are working things out for my good. I choose to stand in faith, believing that my season of breakthrough is coming. Give me Your strength and peace as I patiently wait on You. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

FAITH

This dog was born on Christmas Eve in the year 2002. He was born with 2 legs - He of course could not walk when he was born. Even his mother did not want him. His first owner also did not think that he could survive and he was thinking of 'putting him to sleep'. But then, his present owner, Jude Stringfellow, met him and wanted to take care of him. She became determined to teach and train this little dog to walk by himself. She named him 'Faith'.
In the beginning, she put Faith on a surfboard to let him feel the movement. Later she used peanut butter on a spoon as a lure and reward for him for standing up and jumping around. Even the other dog at home encouraged him to walk. Amazingly, only after 6 months, like a miracle, Faith learned to balance on his hind legs and to jump to move forward. After further training in the snow, he could now walk like a human being. Faith loves to walk around now. No matter where he goes, he attracts people to him. He is fast becoming famous on the international scene and has appeared on various newspapers and TV shows. There is now a book entitled 'With a Little Faith' being published about him.
His present owner Jude Stringfellew has given up her teaching post and plans to take him around the world to preach that even without a perfect body, one can have a perfect soul'. In life there are always undesirable things, so in order to feel better you just need to look at life from another direction. I hope this message will bring fresh new ways of thinking to everyone and that everyone will appreciate and be thankful for each beautiful day. Faith is the continual demonstration of the strength and wonder of life.

TODAY'S WORD from Joel & Victoria Osteen
He Increases Your Strength

"He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound]"(Isaiah 40:29, AMP)

In the Bible, Joseph went through seasons of difficulty. He was rejected by his family, sold into slavery, lied about, mistreated, abandoned, falsely accused, and thrown in jail. But through it all, Joseph never gave up. He kept pressing through and doing the right thing even though the wrong thing kept happening. The Bible says in Psalm 105 verse 18, as Joseph laid in prison in those chains of iron, his soul entered into that iron. In other words, as Joseph just kept on fighting life through, his soul became as strong as that steel. God developed a supernatural strength in him that no one could take away.

If you are going through difficulty today, God wants to increase your strength. He wants to increase your power to overcome. He wants to make your inner man as strong as steel. When you keep standing, keep believing, keep doing the right thing, you are opening yourself to God's supernatural strength. That's when you know you are growing in Him. Be strong today. Keep pressing forward because God is at work increasing strength in you so that you can live in victory in every area of your life!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
"Father in heaven, today I surrender every difficulty to You. I release the questions, hurts, and frustrations. I choose to trust You and do the right thing. Increase Your strength in me so that I can live in the victory You have in store for me. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

THE SON

Take my Son -A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art.

When the Vietnam conflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son.

About a month later, just before Christmas, there was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands. He said, 'Sir, you don't know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly. He often talked about you, and your love for art.' The young man held out this package. 'I know this isn't much. I'm not really a great artist, but I think your son would have wanted you to have this.' The father opened the package. It was a portrait of his son, painted by the young man. He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the personality of his son in the painting. The father was so drawn to the eyes that his own eyes welled up with tears. He thanked the young man and offered to pay him for the picture. 'Oh, no sir, I could never repay what your son did for me. It's a gift.' The father hung the portrait over his mantle. Every time visitors came to his home he took them to see the portrait of his son before he showed them any of the other great works he had collected.

The man died a few months later. There was to be a great auction of his paintings. Many influential people gathered, excited over seeing the great paintings and having an opportunity to purchase one for their collection. On the platform sat the painting of the son. The auctioneer pounded his gavel. 'We will start the bidding with this picture of the son. Who will bid for this picture?' There was silence. Then a voice in the back of the room shouted, 'We want to see the famous paintings. Skip this one.' But the auctioneer persisted. 'Will somebody bid for this painting? Who will start the bidding? $100, $200?' Another voice angrily. 'We didn't come to see this painting. We came to see the Van Gogh's, the Rembrandts. Get on with the real bids!' But still the auctioneer continued. 'The son! The son! Who'll take the son?'

Finally, a voice came from the very back of the room. It was the long time gardener of the man and his son. 'I'll give $10 for the painting.' Being a poor man, it was all he could afford.

'We have $10, who will bid $20?''

Give it to him for $10. Let's see the masters.' The crowd was becoming angry. They didn't want the picture of the son. They wanted the more worthy investments for their collections.

The auctioneer pounded the gavel. 'Going once, twice, SOLD for $10!'

A man sitting on the second row shouted, 'Now let's get on with the collection!'

The auctioneer laid down his gavel. 'I'm sorry, the auction is over.''What about the paintings?'' I am sorry. When I was called to conduct this auction, I was told of a secret stipulation in the will. I was not allowed to reveal that stipulation until this time. Only the painting of the son would be auctioned. Whoever bought that painting would inherit the entire estate, including the paintings. The man who took the son gets everything!'

God gave His son 2,000 years ago to die on the cross. Much like the auctioneer, His message today is: 'The son, the son, who'll take the son?' Because, you see, whoever takes the Son gets everything. FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, WHO SO EVER BELIEVETH, SHALL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE....THAT'S LOVE

Quote For Today

"God measures our giving not by how much we give but by how much we have left after we have given"--Author unknown

"And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had." Luke 21: 1-4

Preparing for Promotion

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world"(John 16:33, NIV)

Are you going through a season of difficulty? Does it seem like for every step you take forward, you take two steps back? The Bible tells us that hard times and difficulty will come in this life, but we can rejoice because God promises us victory!

Whatever you may be facing today, make the decision that you are going to shake off negative thinking and trust that God is working behind the scenes. The more we trust Him and exercise our faith in Him, the more we are preparing ourselves for promotion. Focus on the fact that brighter days are just ahead. Weeping may endure for a night, but when you fight the good fight of faith, God promises that joy is coming in the morning! If you'll work with God, He'll take that adversity, turn it around, and use it for your good. It may be uncomfortable at times, but you've got to know that you are growing. God is maturing you. He is building character in you, and he is preparing you for the promotion and increase He has in store for your future!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
"Heavenly Father, today I release all of my cares on You. I choose to focus on the blessings that You have given me. Search my heart today and remove anything that is displeasing to You. I bless You and honor You alone. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

Back To School Prayer

Back to School Prayer for Our Children - "Father, You said in Your Word,"Suffer the little children to come unto Me and forbid them not."Today, I bring all children to you no matter where they are in the world.Dear Jesus, just as You did in the Bible, bless our children at home and those headed back to school. Some have to overcome problems at home--even abuse.Keep them safe and give them the power to succeed in school and in life.Give them a cheerful attitude and an expectant heart as they head back to class.Protect them with guardian angels from harm at the bus stop, on the bus and as they walk the hallways.Protect them from attacks against your Word in their hearts and minds; From evil spirits offering temptation to cheat, lie, steal, drink, smoke, skip school, have sex and fail; From young and adult predators trying to lure them away and rob them of their innocence; From pressure to become involved in gangs, lesbianism, homosexuality, gothic groups, witchcraft, bullying and any type of immorality or evil work of darkness.

Father, I bring all children to You, no matter where they are in the world. Please hold them in Your arms.Walk with them every moment of the day.In Your name Jesus, I bless them and give them the authority to and desire to make good grades!Father give them genius-level intelligence, health, work ethic and drive to succeed in school each day.Let them behave in class and avoid the wrong crowds. No chewing gum, talking in class or running in the halls!Bless them with Godly teachers, principals, coaches, and guidance counselors.Teachers with a heart for children, that encourage them to find their best abilities and excel in them!Bless them with the ability to understand math, science, English, history, arts, and every subject they face.Take away their peer pressure, fears, nerves and test-taking jitters.Let them know that You made them. You are their creator. They are beautiful. They are fearfully and wonderfully made.Give them Your peace. The peace that surpasses all understanding, that the world cannot take away.Give them dreamsGive them goalsGive them help to achieve them all!Give them Your love and approval let them know that if none of their classmates accept them, You have.Let them know that if they believe and accept Your Son, then they are Your child. They are God's child.

John 1:12-13 reads:
12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.

13 They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.

Amen." --Dr. Prince

"...my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine." Isaiah 55:8

You Were Created To Go Beyond -Did you know that God wants to take you beyond where you are right now? He loves and cares for you so much, and He wants you to experience life where anything is possible.

It's the life that Jesus lived, and it's the life He desires for you as you hear His voice and obey His Word. God didn't create you in the hope that you would just get by or settle for the ordinary.
God has a unique, just for you purpose!

So often we limit ourselves or allow others to put limits on us that keep us from fulfilling God’s plan for our lives. Many times, we don't even realize this is happening until we read God's Word and discover the real truth He has for us. If we, as believers, hold on to the things that limit us, they will keep us from the incredible life God has for us.

Doing it God's way isn't always easy. Trust doesn't come naturally to us; neither do forgiveness, patience or having a good attitude through difficult seasons in life.

If you want to go beyond where you are today, to get to the place God's calling you, you have to live God's way.

When you do things God's WAY, you get God's RESULTS.---Joel Osteen

Food For Thought

The Ant and the Contact Lens: a true story Brenda was almost halfway to the top of the tremendous granite cliff. She was standing on a ledge where she was taking a breather during this, her first rock climb. As she rested there, the safety rope snapped against her eye and knocked out her contact len . "Great", she thought. "Here I am on a rock ledge, hundreds of feet from the bottom and hundreds of feet to the top of this cliff, and now my sight is blurry..." She looked and looked, hoping that somehow it had landed on the ledge... But it just wasn't there.. She felt the panic rising in her, so she began praying. She prayed for calm, and she prayed that she may find her contact lens. When she got to the top, a friend examined her eye and her clothing for the lens, but it was not to be found. Although she was calm now that she was at the top, she was saddened because she could not clearly see across the range of mountains. She thought of the bible verse "The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth." She thought, "Lord, You can see all these mountains. You know every stone and leaf, and You know exactly where my contact lens is. Please help me."

Later, when they had hiked down the trail to the bottom of the cliff they met another party of climbers just starting up the face of the cliff. One of them shouted out, "Hey, you guys! Anybody lose a contact lens?" Well, that would be startling enough, but you know why the climber saw it? An ant was moving slowly across a twig on the face of the rock, carrying it!

The story doesn't end there. Brenda's father is a cartoonist. When she told him the incredible story of the ant, the prayer, and the contact lens, he drew a cartoon of an ant lugging that contact lens with the caption, "Lord, I don't know why You want me to carry this thing. I can't eat it, and it's awfully heavy. But if this is what You want me to do, I'll carry it for You.."

I think it would do all of us some good to say, "God, I don't know why You want me to carry this load. I can see no good in it and it's awfully heavy.. But, if You want me to carry it, I will."

God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called. Yes, I do love GOD. He is my source of existence and my Savior.. He keeps me functioning each and every day Without Him, I am nothing, but with Him....I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. (Phil.. 4:13)

Quote For Today

"The Darkness is not threatened by religion, spirituality, doctrine, loud music, preaching, crowds of Christians, spiritual warfare, prophetic conventions, or revivals. Darkness is only threatened by Light, and to the extent that we have Light, to that extent the Darkness loses its power over us. When we abide in perfect Light, then Darkness has no power whatsoever. And light is nothing more or less than the revelation of Christ in His glory." --Chip Brogden

Church Laughter

Don't Say We Didn't Warn You
Our church fellowship hall has framed Bible verses on the wall—most of them extolling God's love and care. But at a recent wedding reception, another verse caught everyone's attention. Directly behind the cake table where the couple were cutting the first piece hung the warning: FLEE FROM THE WRATH TO COME!

VBS Update

Havest Center enjoyed a great Vacation Bible School Saturday. Seeds were planted in the hearts of the children as they heard the Word taught by our seasoned teachers. Fun Time by Mary Nell Adkins was well "Funny" as only Sister Adkins can do Fun Time. The puppet show was not only entertaining for everyone but what a message presented by "Bob, THE MAN and Pastor Bob", with Kim Maness and Renita Coffey as the puppeteers. And the lunch prepared by Harold and Linda McBrayer, owner of the Fish & Chicken House Restaurant in Crossville, was a feast indeed. Great door prizes, (awesome cookies, Amber). Special visitors included Debbie Elrod, who works with the Dekalb County Safety Office; Leon Hufstetler, Dekalb Ambulance Service and Collinsville Rescue Squard; Elaine Hufstetler, Collinsville Rescue Squard; Frankie Stewart, Clerk with Collinsville City Hall; and Jimmy Ashley, Etowah County Drug Rehab Counselor. The children had a great learning experience as they were given a tour through an ambulance finished by Dekalb Ambulance Service. Just an all around great day in the Lord. Many thanks to everyone who worked or contributed in anyway. A special thanks to Mary Lou Simpson who work endless hours coordinating the event.
